Post-Treatment Care
Don’t pick or scratch at the treated area, especially if it itches. Itching usually means that healing is occurring, and this process should be encouraged by not disturbing the area. Don’t put anything on the treated area, unless it is suggested by your electrologist or doctor. Avoid creams or makeup, because they could cause acne. If you do get a bit of acne in the treatment area, treat it as you normally would, and apply alcohol with a cotton swab a couple of times daily. If there is any continuing redness or swelling, see your electrologist or doctor immediately.

Sometimes, tiny crusts appear over some of the treated follicles. These are normal, and should not be disturbed, because premature removal could hinder the healing process.

Re-growth
Hairs that appear within one or two weeks of treatment are not re-growth - the follicles in which they grow were "resting" at the time of the original treatment, and have since grown in to the point where they can be seen and removed. This unseen, and therefore untreatable hair, usually accounts for about 20 percent of the total number of hairs to be treated. Most true re-growth, whether from tweezing or electrolysis, appears one to two months after treatment!

Actual re-growth, when it does appear, is usually finer in texture, and usually distorted looking, because the root may have been only partially treated. This is the case with only about 20 percent of the hairs - 80 percent having been destroyed by the original treatment. It is important to return for follow-up treatments, in order to completely clear the area of both "resting" and re-growth hair, to achieve the desired results.
